35P of the ASIO Act

On 21 October 2015 the former INSLM, the Hon. Roger Gyles AO QC, completed a report on the impact on journalists of section 35P of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979 (ASIO Act). This was a matter referred to the INSLM by the then Prime Minister. The Report was tabled in Parliament on 2 February 2016.

Public hearings associated with the Review into the operation of section 35P were held in Canberra on 27 and 28 April 2015.
